Day 1

Arrive Marrakech and rendezvous at the group hotel in the heart of the medina, opposite the world famous Djeema El Fna.

Day 2

Transfer to the beautiful Ourika valley. After loading the mules with baggage and supplies the walk begins with an ascent to the tiny village of Iabbassene.

Day 3

An early start to cross a high mountain pass that revelas spectacular views in all directions. Descend into the upper Imenane Valley to the village of Tacheddirt.

Day 4

Follow the Imenane valley for a while and then ascend out following a zig-zagging trail that leads to the Tizi Tamatert. Admire the mountain panorama and descend into the Mizane Valley to join the main Toubkal trail to reach Aremd.

Day 5

A steady ascent along the standard trail to "Toubkal Base camp", passing the sacred shrine of Sidi Chamharouch along the way.

Day 6

The ascent of Toubkal begins from the overnight refuge. Initially steep and seemingly endless boulder and scree before the gradient eases and a final ridge leads to the summit and stunning 360 degree views. Descend to Aremd. A long, tough day.

Day 7

A short walk to the roadhead at Imlil and transfer to marrakech, with plenty of time to explore the labyrinth of souks and bazaars.

Day 8

Depart Marrakech.
